Job Description

This role report into Security Services Department.

The responsibility of the incumbent is to recognise security risks associated with UPSTREAM TECHNOLOGY Paarden Eiland Complex (Mining Systems Workshop, Geosurvey, Research and Development, Sense of Mining) and to establish and maintain minimum security and loss prevention measures and core competencies to safeguard the facilities, people, assets, information, product and reputation against those with malicious intent.

Your role will include:
  • Safety, Health, and Environmental Effectiveness
    • Identify and report safety, health and environmental incidents and risks.
    • Undertake safety risk assessments.
  • Financial
    • Assist in compiling the Security budget by providing information based on operational security and organizational requirements.
  • Internal Business Processes
    • Conduct preliminary investigations (Initial Fact-Finding phase of an investigation) within the legal framework of the RSA and Group Security Standards.
    • Conduct security risk assessments
  • Contract Management
    • Managing security contracts to maximize operational financial performance and to ensure that the suppliers comply with the contract and meet the goals of the contract.
  • ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security Code)
    • Support the Company Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) in complying with the PFSO Duties and Responsibilities as stipulated in the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) - Part A 14, 15, 16, 17.2.1 - 17.2.13.
  • Effective Security Governance
    • Implement, review and update Paarden Eiland SOP.
    • Managing the recovery, storing, transport of diamondiferous gravel, complying with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, Diamond Act 13 of 1999 (Namibia), Diamond Acts, 56 of 1986 (RSA), Company policies and procedures at Supply Chain Centre and, Contracting sites.
  • Incident Management
    • Capture and manage information related to security incidents, investigative and law enforcement environments on the CiiMs software platform.
  • DBM Security clearances
    • Manage the MIE clearance system on site in accordance with the group clearance standard.
  • Surveillance Management
    • Optimization of security systems and technology.
    • Manage live and post event CCTV plan.


Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • National Diploma in Security Risk Management or Criminology or NQF 6 equivalent.
  • PSIRA Grade A

Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Security or Risk Management

Role Specific Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of Security principles and Risk Management
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management
  • Knowledge of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme
  • Knowledge of Diamond Act 13 of 1999 (Namibia), Diamonds Act, 56 of 1986 (RSA)
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Procedures Act, 51 of 1977
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 85 of 1993
  • Knowledge of the National Ports Act, 12 of 2005
  • Knowledge of the Port rules as provided for in section 80 (2) of the National Ports Act, 12 of 2005
  • Knowledge of the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS)
  • Company policies and procedures
