JOB PURPOSE
As the Payments Analyst, Global Payments at Burberry, you'll be responsible for the analytics across transactional B2C payment data across Burberry's multiple payments partners globally. You will monitor payment activity to uncover trends, patterns and drive insights to help problem solve and best inform business decisions. You'll also lead on managing day-to-day payment operations, managing and responding to payment queries and supporting wider business functions with any payment related issues.
This Payments Analyst, Global Payments role is offered on a permanent, full time basis and will be based in our Horseferry House, London office for 3 days per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creation and monitoring of reporting dashboards across transactional payment data, covering authorisation rates and decline codes, disputes/chargebacks and cost of payments to develop detailed reporting and insights
- Working closely with internal teams to facilitate a group-wide approach to data and insights across payments, delivering optimisations and efficiencies in payment processing capabilities
- Develop close working relationships with external third party payment partners to drive regular reporting and insights on any changes to cost of payments acceptance, including reviews and monitoring
- Conduct research and analysis across the payments domain to stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes
- Working across both retail and digital channels, support business case development and approval through the provision of detailed and accurate payment analytics
- As required, support the Global Payments Director on any deliverables for project execution and roll-out
- Collaborating with other functional teams, ensure a robust and timely process behind POS & PBL chargeback and dispute case management, ensuring that transactions are represented against and information provided to support any defence made
- Conducting regular user access reviews across Burberry's payment partners to ensure the correct allocation of permission
- Monitoring of the Global Payments inbox, appropriately responding to and/or escalating payment queries to support internal or external third parties in issue resolution
- Managing of day-to-day payment operations, covering store openings and closures, PDQ administration and trouble-shooting, system configuration and supporting on any testing for new product roll out
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Experience in the payments industry (merchant/acquirer/issuer/scheme)
- Strong experience in data insights or analytics roles, preferably in a large, global organisation
- Exceptional research, problem-solving and numerical skills
- Strong domain knowledge and understanding of the global payments and fraud landscape, market nuances and commercial dynamics
- Advanced Excel capability, able to manipulate large data sets
- Proficiency with key data, analytics and reporting tools such as Tableau, Looker, PowerBI and SQL
- Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate multiple work requirements to meet deadlines
- Excellent relationship builder to drive meaningful collaboration across both internal and external partners
- Outstanding communication and data-driven storytelling abilities, with strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- Commercial acumen in a payments environment, including experience with payments operational data and third party commercial arrangements
